Asakusa has been a town of common people, merchants, craftsmen and entertainers since the Edo period. It's a lot of fun to stroll in the Edo culture atmosphere. The huge red lantern hanging from Thunder Gate welcomes you to enter the Sensoji temple which has a history of 1400 years.
Enjoy Nakamise Street where souvenir shops and Japanese sweets shops are lined up, Hozomon Gate or Treasure Gate with another huge red lantern, a five-storied pagoda, an incense burner, Mikuji-drawing a fortune telling paper, the main hall of Sensoji Temple and many more!
